• Step 1 - Register a domain
  Your domain is the address that a customer would type into a web browser to go to your webpage. For example tomsveggies.com. Also, the domain name would be the last part of your email address. For example bigtom@tomsveggies.com. The domain name registration cost is ~$9 per year.

• Step 2 - Set up a hosting account
  Your website will also require hosting. Your website will be hosted on a web server that is built to achieve maximum uptime (99%+) for your website and email. These web and mail servers do most of the work for your website and email functions. Essentially, When a customer types your web address into a web browser, the domain registrar directs the request to the hosting server that returns your web pages. Your email box also resides on the hosting server. The hosting account provides you with many other services such as email redirection, scripting, database server, website statistics, ftp accounts, and a control panel for managing everything. Don't worry. We won't let you get overwhelmed! Decaturpc.com will take care of as much of it as you need us to. For a hosting account very capable of small business needs, cost is ~$4 per month due quarterly.

• Step 3 - Create the website
  Decaturpc.com will develop your website for you or with you. Your website can do many things beyond advertising your business. You can:

  • Provide information to customers such as online inventory database.
  • Enable your employees to share files / information with logins
  • Share ideas and comments with a forum or blog
  • Embed Multimedia files such as instructional videos

  Decaturpc.com will develop your website for $25 per page. If a page design (such as a sketch) is provided, decaturpc may quote the page for less. Other page features beyond xhtml, css, PHP, and javascript, (such as complicated Flash animation design) may require a minimum page commitment.

• Step 4 - Telephone Support
  We require a subscription to our Telephone Support Service (min. 1 month) be purchased for the initial setup of your first domain. After launching your new website, you will discover the many tools available to you and will have many questions about using them. Decaturpc wants to be there to insure you get the most out of your site.

• *Step 5 - Content Management
